The aquarium houses over 10,000 aquatic plants and animals from 1,340 species from Florida and all over the world. The Florida Aquarium opened in March of 1995.
The primary feature of the Florida Aquarium is the demonstration of how a single drop of water creates its way from its underground source to the open waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

Shark Bay:
The place is a 93,000-gallon saltwater housing variety of shark species from around the world that include sand tiger sharks, zebra sharks, nurse sharks, black tip reef sharks and a green sea turtle. This particular program is formulated to drive off the commonly held myth that sharks are only man-eaters, and convey a strong conservation message.

This area displays both leafy and skinny sea dragons. The visitors can take a walk through this Australian-theme based location and find out the stories of sea dragons and their kin.
